Sun Reflections

Sun-reflections from the unseen world
are all the object of this mortal sphere,
as curl, down, mole, and brow on a fair face,
for Beauty absolute reigns over all.

...When the ears first hear these words
they seem to denote sensual objects.
But as there is no language for the infinite,
how can we express its mysteries
in finite words?
Or how can the visions of the ecstatic
be described in earthly formula?
So mystics veil their meanings
in these shadows of the unseen,
the objects of the senses.

...As a nurse to an infant,
so is the infinite to the finite.

...Once these words were used in their proper sense,
but now are concealed lest the vulgar should profane.

Annihilation, intoxication, the fever of love
are the three states of the mystic,
and those who abide in these states
at once comprehend the meanings
veiled in these words.
But if you know them not,
don't pretend you understand like an igonorant infidel,
for all cannot be mystics or grasp the mysteries:
no mere illusions are the mystic's dreams,
and a man of truth does not speak vainly.
To comprehend requires revelations or great faith.

Briefly have I explained these words and their meanings
so that you may apply them in their right intent,
remembering the attributes of each.
Compare them in a right manner,
and refrain from the wrong comparisons.

Now that these rules are understood
I will show you more of their application

Mahmud Shabistari (1288 – 1340) is one of the most celebrated ersian poets of the 14th century . His most famous work is a mystic text called "The Secret Rose Garden"  written in about 1311 in rhyming couplets. I´m going you to offer his poem " Sun reflection" , which have what to say also in the present days.

Slnečné odlesky

Odlesky slnka z neviditeľného sveta
to všetko objektami sú smrteľnej tejto sféry,
ako kader, pád, krtko čo obočie na  a obočí na peknej  tvári,
by KRÁSA plne  panovala  nad všetkým.

...Keď k ušiam prvýkrát dôjdu  tieto slova,
 zdá sa sťa zmyselné veci označovali by.
Ale  tam ako neexistuje žiaden jazyk pre nekonečno,
ako vyjadriť sa dá ich záhadnosť
používaním obmedzených slov?
Či ako sa dá vízia z extázy
opísať svetskou formulou?
Tak záhadne je zahalený ich význam,
v tých nebviditeľných tieňoch,
 zmyslov objektoch.

...tak ako pestúnka ku dieťatku,
tak  nekonečno ku konečnú má vzťah..

...Niekeky slová tieto použité boli v ich správnom význame,
lež význam ich teraz zahalený je, by hrubým slovom si ich neznesvätil.

Úplná skazy, opojenie,  horúčka lásky
to stavy mystické sú tri,
tí čo pobudli v týchto stavoch
tí pochopili hneď význam
skrytý v týchto slovách.
Avšak tí čo nepoznáte ich,
nepredstierajte, že rozumiete sťa igonorantskí bezvereci,
nemôžu  všetci mystika chápať, či  pochopiť jej záhady.
Žiadná púha ilúzia nie je  mystický sen,
 pravdivý človek nerozpráva márne
Porozumenie vyžaduje si odhalenia či vieru obrovskú.

V krátkostí teda ak vysvetliť mám význam tých slov,
by užívali  ste ich v ich správnom význame,
atributy všetkých si treba pamätať.
Správným spôsobom ich porovnávať,
 nesprávnych prirovnaní sa zdržať!

Keď pravidla tieto pochopené budú,
ukážem vám ako aplikovať v živote máte ich....
